Already in 1933 a student of Freud proposed the idea that trauma stretches beyond our minds. And that this trauma could lead to inflammation, muscular tension, pain and other bodily reactions. He said that these reactions were there to defend us against traumatic experiences and called them “body armor.”
We now know that there is an interconnectedness between the body and the mind, and that the body is the record keeper of all our experiences. We do not need to experience a traumatic situation to form this armor, simply being human can create stress. When we are stressed our muscles contract involuntarily. This unconscious involuntary reaction shapes the fascia, leading to both physical and emotional rigidity. Body armor.
The Nervous System Regulation work designed by Dr. Andreá Tradaldi has 35 years of research behind it. By using slow repetitive somatic awareness movement sequences you will learn to access the layers of your body. By going slow, we avoid triggering the muscles' natural reaction to contract into protective armor. Avoiding this contraction allows us to go deeper and it is in this depth that we become aware of the hidden tension in our muscles, and learn to relax.
These movement sequences include pauses, time to experience the relaxation that comes when the tension fades. As well as time to integrate that feeling. Not doing is also an action. It is in these pauses that we can begin to access our patterns of behavior, emotions and hidden beliefs that are held in our subconscious.
The movement sequences are followed by a Somatic Dreamtime journey. Accompanied by soothing music, we invite in and make space for our Somatic Intuition to expand. This expansion allows images from the subconscious to surface, freely and without judgement. The Somatic Dreamtime Journey is followed by the Somatic Dreamtime Protocol. Where we take a deeper dive into the images the surfaced, and integrate them into the conscious.

Learn how different muscles affect your breathing. Move beyond repetitive mentally imposed breathing patterns and increase your lung capacity. Learn how to give yourself an inner organ massage to reduce back spasms and help reduce lumbar pain. And more!
Fascia, the body's intricate network of connective tissue, has approximately 250 million nerve endings. Mostly sensory neurons, allowing communication between body parts and the central nervous system. Think of it like the white stuff in an orange, every muscle fibre, every nerve, everything, is covered and connected by fascia. Fascia neither starts nor ends.
NMF exercises will teach you micro movements to relax and stretch fascia. This increases somatic awareness, gives more freedom of movement and relieves pain. Also known as removing your body armor.
